Required Duties
Schedule
The Teaching Coach role requires a commitment of 8-12 hours per week. It is possible to work up to 20 hours per week by doing a weekly placement for your own teaching along with coaching the other instructors.
The Teaching Coach must have some availability during the hours of afterschool program, in order to make it possible for them to visit program to observe the instructors while they're teaching. Afterschool program is held Monday-Friday, with instructors teaching sessions anywhere between 2:45 and 5:30, depending on the exact schedule of each site.
The training and ongoing check-in sessions the Teaching Coach leads for instructors will likely need to take place during some evening and/or weekend hours. The Teaching Coach will work together with the instructors to schedule training sessions.

- Visit each dance teaching team in action at least once per semester. Observe, assess, devise strategies for enacting that improvement.
- Meet with dance teaching teams to discuss the assessments and make plans for improvement.

- Understanding of asset-based approach to working with students and communities, or eagerness to learn this approach
- Willingness and skill to lead training sessions that are interactive and workshop-style, so that teaching teams accomplish preparation tasks during the sessions with guidance from the coaches, rather than leaving the training with a long to-do list.
